Cornerstone Workforce Readiness and Certification Tracking
Our Certified Cornerstone Experts design the reporting cadence and own the data quality. The GroveDeck engine monitors certification status continuously and surfaces problems before they reach an audit.
The quarterly reporting scramble
Board meeting coming up. HR asks for a bench strength report. Someone runs six reports, exports to Excel, and reconciles for three hours. It looks right, but the skills data hasn’t been validated since your HRIS changed fields last year. Probably accurate isn’t good enough for a board deck.
Certifications are a separate problem. When a safety certification expires, the notice goes to the admin, who may not own re-enrolling the team, and the gap sits in a transcript nobody’s watching. For a healthcare organization or a government contractor, that’s a compliance exposure.
How the GroveDeck engine handles this
The engine monitors certification status continuously, not in batch exports. When one approaches expiry, the engine flags it early and escalation routes to the right manager. Renewal isn’t automatic in Cornerstone, so we build a custom workflow that re-enrolls before the gap opens. The Certified Cornerstone Expert who built the workflow owns it month to month, so it doesn’t quietly break when someone changes a field in Workday.
For skills, we reconcile Cornerstone against your HRIS and set a validation cadence so the data is defensible. Executive reporting doesn’t need an export: our experts build the dashboard logic inside Cornerstone, so your CHRO sees the same metrics, definitions, and filters every time.
What’s included
Certification tracking and renewal
Continuous monitoring, a custom workflow that re-enrolls before expiry, escalation to the manager who can act.
Skills data hygiene
HRIS reconciliation, stale tag cleanup, validation workflows, and a clear definition of “proficient.”
Compliance assignment and escalation
Assignment logic on your org structure and job codes. Escalation that reaches supervisors, not just the LMS admin.
Executive and CHRO reporting
CEO completion dashboards, CHRO bench strength views, board-ready compliance summaries, maintained month to month.
Audit-ready learner records
Transcript accuracy, completion evidence, and export workflows. An auditor’s request takes minutes.
Talent pipeline reporting
Succession readiness, role-gap analysis, and development plan tracking.
Four steps from messy to reliable
1. Assess reporting quality
An audit of your reports, skills data, and certification tracking, with findings on what’s reliable.
2. Fix the data plumbing
Skills reconciliation, transcript cleanup, org chart alignment, and HRIS field mapping. The work that makes reports trustworthy.
3. Design the reporting cadence
Build the dashboards your executives use. Agree on definitions, filters, and refresh schedule. Document it so it survives personnel changes.
4. Monitor and iterate
The engine watches for drift: org changes that break assignment logic, HRIS updates that orphan skill tags, workflows that stop firing. Our experts fix them before you notice.
Common questions
How do you handle skills data that’s already a mess?
We start with a side-by-side audit of skill tags, proficiency definitions, and coverage in Cornerstone vs. your HRIS. We fix the configuration, clear the backlog of records, and build workflows so it stays clean.
Can you build CHRO dashboards without exporting data out of Cornerstone?
Yes. We build inside the platform (custom report views, executive dashboards, scheduled delivery) so your CHRO gets a consistent view without anyone maintaining a spreadsheet.
What happens when a certification expires before renewal completes?
Cornerstone doesn’t re-enroll on its own, so we build a custom renewal workflow that starts early (typically 30 to 60 days before expiry), with escalation to the learner’s manager if the deadline is missed. For high-risk certifications, we can build extra safeguards as a custom solution.
How does compliance training escalation work?
The right manager gets notified, with context, at the right time. We design paths that match your org structure: first-line manager at day seven, HR business partner at day fourteen, department head at day twenty-one.
Can you connect Cornerstone reporting to our existing BI tool?
Yes, if that’s the right approach. Cornerstone publishes a Reporting API that feeds Power BI directly. For Tableau, Workday Prism, or another platform without a documented path, we deploy a custom solution: we configure the extract, handle the field mapping, and keep the data clean.
